Menu Layout

Welcome to Cheese Bar Amsterdam, where we offer you the ultimate cheese experience! Our menu is carefully constructed, from mild to strong, to gradually allow your taste buds to get used to the different flavours and textures.

Four Categories

We've divided our cheeses into four categories: white flora cheeses, red flora cheeses, hard Gouda cheeses, and full-bodied blue cheeses. Start with softer and milder cheeses, then move on to harder and spicier varieties, and finish with the soft and full-bodied blue cheeses.

Unique Garnish

We've selected a unique garnish for each cheese. Take, for example, our Witte de Koning, a soft white flora cheese, combined with dark chocolate and crunchy granola. These combinations create a harmonious taste experience.

Pairing

Of course, cheese is a must-have pairing. Our sommelier has carefully selected a matching wine for each cheese. Generally, we recommend white wine with milder cheeses and red wine with heavier ones. For full-bodied blue cheeses, we recommend fortified wines like Madeira, Pedro Xéminez, or Pommeau de Normandie. Start with a sip of wine, then savor a piece of cheese with the accompanying garnish, and finish with another sip of wine for the ultimate food and wine pairing experience.

Neutralize

To neutralize your palate between cheeses, we serve date bread, crackers, and water. This way, you can start each cheese and wine pairing feeling refreshed.

Local Products

At Cheesebar Amsterdam, we value local products. Our cheeses are primarily sourced from artisanal, small-scale Dutch farmers. For example, visit the website of Mathildes Kaas, a small cheesemonger in Amsterdam West, or discover the cheesemongers of Oudwijker, located just outside Utrecht. All our cheeses are sourced from the Netherlands.

We look forward to welcoming you soon to our cheese bar for an unforgettable cheese experience! Book online now at www.kaasbar.amsterdam.

  • We have been today (20.11.) and it was a very wonderful evening. We had a nice bottle of Italian wine, starters + 10 cheese plates and burrata icecream desert. Best food experience in Netherlands this week. Greetings from Slovakia
